Bowl for a Cause: 2nd PSFD Bowling Cup

After PSFD's successful participation in the 21st Summer Deaflympics last year, it continues to provide sports activities for the Filipino Deaf. Last March 28, 2010, the Bowl for a Cause: 2nd PSFD Bowling Cup was held at SM Mall of Asia Bowling Center. The main purpose of the event is to select the new bowling team for the coming 4th Asia Pacific Deaf Bowling Championship and 7th Asia Pacific Games of the Deaf. We congratulate the winners and extend our appreciation to all participants and audiences who became part of our activity's success.

21st Summer Deaflympics – Closing Ceremony

Filled with Deaflympics’ spirit and fuelled by its theme “Power in Me,” the first Filipino Deaflympians shared with their fellow athletes a memorable farewell in the closing ceremony of 21st Summer Deaflympics. It was held in Taipei Stadium on September 15, 2009. Our delegates went home full of unforgettable experiences and looking forward to tread the next path of Deaflympics’ torch which will be in Athens, Greece on 2013.

21st Summer Deaflympics – Bowling Games

As different games during the Deaflympics started, our athletes began the race for gold, for our country, in the bowling category of the Deaflympics Games. The Philippines sent three men and women to compete in this category. Bowling games were held in Xingqiafu Bowling Center from September 7 to 14, 2009.

21st Summer Deaflympics – Opening Ceremony

With their faces painted of joy and pride, the representatives of the Philippines proudly paraded our country’s emblem in the Opening Ceremony of 21st Summer Deaflympics held in Taipei Stadium on September 5, 2009. This is the Philippines’ first time to sent athletes and delegates to this international sports event. The world warmly welcomed our country’s response to the invitation of Deaflympics Games.

42nd ICSD Congress

Before the opening of 21st Summer Deaflympics, all international members of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) gathered for 42nd ICSD Congress held in Sheraton Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan from September 3 and 4, 2009. During this event, the constitution of ICSD was revised to guide the future of Deaf sports worldwide. New members of ICSD Executive Committee were also elected during this occasion. Ms. Carolyn B. Dagani and Ms. Sherie Lyn C. Ong were our country’s first representative to this gathering of international sports federation.

21st Summer Deaflympics Athletes Training

To prepare best the country's budding athletes, for the first time, the Phil-Sports Federation of the Deaf arranged extensive trainings to prepare them for the coming games. Through the assistance of Philippine Sports Commission and Philippine Bowling Congress, the PSC Bowling Lanes is provided for the athletes as training facility.
